Before becoming an independent consultant, I had a successful career in export sales and marketing for 21 years followed by 6½ years in general management.

I have considerable experience in the following areas:

  • successfully formulating and implementing sales and marketing strategies for new business and new territories;

  • development of markets from a zero base, using marketing and direct sales techniques;

  • negotiation of major, complex contracts with OEMs and end users;

  • management of sales and customer service teams;

  • appointment and management of agents;

  • export procedures and credit insurance;

  • shipping practices and documentation;

  • overall pricing and profit control;

  • key account management.

I am highly proficient in French and Spanish and competent in German. I have travelled widely (72 countries) and have experience of a good number of international business cultures.
