REGULAR FLOODING OF THE RIVER USK

The River Usk overflows its lower banks a few times most years during autumn and winter, generally without damaging any properties, but making access to the path on the east bank impossible for short periods. The fields to the east of the town are usually flooded at the same time by the Olway Brook which flows through them. The photos linked above were taken on 06.11.05 and 03.12.06 and are typical of the minor flooding which Usk can expect each year.

REGULAR FLOODING OF THE OLWAY BROOK

The Olway Brook which runs to the east of the town and then south, joining the Usk south west of Llanllowell, also floods regularly. The photos linked below were taken on 10.01.07.
