BIRDS SEEN IN SCOTLAND (ISLAY AND JURA), AUGUST 1997

Scotland is one of my favourite destinations where I have been many times. This was, however, the first time on the delightful islands of Islay and Jura. We saw nothing new but it was good to see Arctic skua, red throated diver, red breasted merganser and particularly chough, the latter being our only sighting on the British mainland. We also managed a trip to the small island of Colonsay.
